The boy Evgraf Went through life like a titular count He hid women in a fireproof safe But he acted like a gentleman and always paid the fine He wore a suit and tails Gave champagne to all the homeless dogs But if things ever got rowdy He would rise above the table Like a regular lom He was a proponent of humane ideals He lived not knowing that the world had so many terribly-dressed people He believed in one thing: That it was crucial not to play dominoes In his life he never acted in a film and disliked writing poetry, preferring wine; He went away And, not able to conquer the emptiness, We look at the spot where he just was And exclaim “Why? What? How? What a beautiful night…” But I think that he is right on that count Let’s hope that we’ll get a chance to once again welcome the boy Evgraf…
